our history: A century of progress

The Wettenhalls story began in 1925 in Colac, when Reginald Amezdroz identified a need to transport perishable goods to Melbourne. By 1926, he was completing daily cream deliveries using his own truck, laying the foundations of the business.

In 1930, he formed Amezdroz & Menzies, marking the formal establishment of the company. Over the following decades, the business grew steadily, building a reputation for reliability and service while remaining closely connected to the local community.

The business expanded its fleet, capabilities, and freight types under the leadership of Ned and Bill Amezdroz, who took over in 1960. Investment in refrigerated transport and larger vehicles enabled more efficient and diversified operations.

During the 2010s, the business evolved to meet changing market needs by establishing specialised divisions, including Environmental Services in 2017 and WRX in 2018, extending into palletised freight and regional LTL services.

Building on a century of trusted service, Wettenhalls continues to embrace technology and invest in modern equipment and its people to deliver smarter, safer and more efficient transport solutions. As the industry evolves, the business continues to adapt while remaining committed to its customers and the communities it serves.
