The Wettenhalls Group continues to expand its operations through the acquisition of Melbourne-based transport and warehousing business, Marchetti Transport. Express Manager Steve Biggs said the integration of Marchetti Transport into Wettenhalls had required commitment and hard work across all areas of the business. "What we achieved with very little notice was nothing short of great work. Thank you to all who were involved." Marchetti Transport was first established in 1952 when the company began operating with one truck, carting timber on behalf of sawmills in north eastern Victoria. As the logging industry changed, Marchetti expanded and changed its operation, which saw the Melbourne-based business grow to provide a complete range of transport, warehousing and distribution services, including line haul transport and local deliveries.
